Proofreading Partner for Course Creators

proofreading partner for course creators

You’ve got your notebook, coffee, and favourite pen to hand, and you’re ready to start the course you’ve just paid for.

And then you spot a typo.

Meh, it’s just a typo – no big deal! These things happen.

Then you spot one more. And then another. Then a statistic that contradicts the one from three slides ago.

And you’re no longer learning. You’re quietly panicking that you’ve fallen for a scam.

Human writers make human errors and that’s OK.

The trouble is that errors and inconsistencies undermine your credibility as an authority that people want to learn from.

Your learners aren’t paying to proofread your material – they’re paying to trust you.

Let’s make sure that happens.

What can I help you with?

When you’ve finalised your content and wording and you feel ready to send it off to your designer, it’s time to pause for the final pass.

How much does course proofreading cost?

The total cost will depend on the length and complexity of your content.

Course proofreading starts at AU$400.

What’s included?

When we partner on your course, I will:

  • correct any errors and inconsistencies in grammar, spelling, punctuation, capitalisation, and word choice.
  • suggest alternatives to any language you’ve used that may be harmful to marginalised communities.
  • highlight any ambiguities that get between your learner and your message.
  • flag inconsistent terminology.
  • query any factual inconsistencies (depending on complexity of topic).

How does it work?

1. Discussion and brand alignment check

Before we commit to anything, we’ll chat about your brand to make sure our values align. This is important because I want to build a relationship with you so we get the best results!

2. Quote

After our discussion, I’ll contact you with a quote. This will include:

  • my fee
  • a proposed schedule
  • an overview of each of our tasks and responsibilities.

3. Booking confirmation

Once you’ve let me know you’re interested and we’ve discussed a start date, I’ll ask you to complete my booking confirmation form, which will act as our contract. When I’ve received your completed form, I’ll send you an invoice so you can pay to lock in my time. If your quote is over AU$500, you’ll be welcome to pay it in two instalments – 50% now and the remaining 50% when my work is complete and before I return your files.

4. Work begins!

Once everything is confirmed, I’ll get stuck into proofreading for you in line with the brief and our schedule.

I’ll return your writing for you to review once my work is complete and you’ve paid any remaining fees. If you choose to revise any of your work as a result of my feedback and would like me to take another look, I will proofread these revisions for you for no additional charge (terms and conditions apply).
